TRAINING ELDERS TO PREACH PROGRAM:

The Training and Development Committee would like to offer a new “Training Elders to Preach” program, offering ordained ruling elders in our presbytery the opportunity to be trained in preaching. Elders trained to preach are eligible to fill the pulpit of their home churches when their pastors are absent (saving their congregations pulpit supply money), and can also be placed on the Presbytery’s pulpit supply list, with some restrictions. This is not the same thing as the Commissioned Ruling Elder program, and does not train you to serve a congregation as its pastor. If you are a ruling elder who would like to learn to preach, please contact the Rev. Matt Camlin (304) 387-0786, or Elder Cindy Foster (740) 633-6717. This program requires a minimum of five (5) participants, so if you are interested (or know someone who should be!) please contact us right away, because we will not undertake this training program with fewer than five students.
